The only ice skating program endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey, US Speedskating and the Special Olympics. Learn to Skate USA offers every participant rewarding experience rooted in the lifelong benefits of ice skating.

Holiday Show Director


The SCLP annual holiday show will be held every December under the direction of a Show Director appointed by the SCLP Board of Directors. Any coach or skating director is welcome to submit a show idea to the board for consideration.  Show ideas should be submitted to Katrina by the October 15th. 

Show Director Responsibilities:

Create a theme that is appropriate for all levels of participation
Show will include each group class level as well as advanced skaters & adult skaters.  Director may group advanced skaters as he/she sees fit

Choose music selection for every group, duet trio and solo that fits with theme
Theme will include costume ideas for each group number and recommendations for solo numbers
Director will be responsible for maintaining costume inventory and distribution for show
Design and create props for show as he/she determines necessary
Director will keep show within budget set by SCLP board of directors
Director will make sure budget will cover the cost of coaches hours, props, costumes, music, hair/makeup needs and any other expenses that may be incurred.
Director will be responsible for organizing parent volunteers as he/she feels the need with assistance of co-directors
Responsible for communication with coaches and directors
Provide information for skaters & parents to directors to distribute

SCLP Co-Directors will be responsible for:

Registration of skaters and compiling a skater list to provide to director
Creating marketing materials for show & promotion of the show
Coordinate with arena office for ice time and day of show needs
Assist with organization of parent volunteers to help show director

Assist director with communication to parents & skaters
Assist with day of show set up and tear down
Co-Directors will earn coaches rate for duties outside of what is listed above.
