Meet the Board of Directors
Our board members have had diverse experiences as skaters, coaches, volunteers, officials, and skating parents. Different backgrounds, experiences, and values help us build a stronger club for our members.
This is Christie's third Presidential term; she has previously served as SCLP Vice President, Secretary, and Director at Large. In her 25-year skating career, she has participated in various capacities including as a competitive skater, coach, US Figure Skating judge, US Figure Skating accountant, Skate Shop co-owner, and ice show director. She has served on the US Figure Skating Tests Committee, was previously the SCLP Volunteer chairperson, and is currently the Test chairperson and Membership Chairperson. With her extensive coverage of skating sports in Lake Placid and elsewhere, Christie has become a go-to skating expert in Lake Placid and is the author of "Lake Placid Figure Skating - A History". She continues to write about skating for publications including the Lake Placid News, US Figure Skating, and International Figure Skating. Christie still competes as an adult in both figure and speed skating and serves as President of the Lake Placid Speed Skating Club.
Margaret has been an adult skater since 1977 and passionately advocates for further development of club adult skating programs. Originally from metropolitan NY, Margaret served as the Secretary for the prestigious Skating Club of New York from 1982-1984. A dedicated attendee of Lake Placid's summer adult week since 2005, she moved to Lake Placid in 2018 and has since become the Coffee Club program coordinator. She also serves on various Club committees including the hospitality committee and with her husband Peter, frequently volunteers. Avid New York sports fans, Margaret and Peter live in hope that the New York Rangers win another Stanley Cup and the New York Mets win another World Series in their lifetime.
Director at Large
This is Gina's second term on the Board of Directors. An individual and family counselor, she, her husband David, and two children moved to Lake Placid in 2008. Gina started skating in college and suggested to David that he learn to skate so they could ice dance, and the rest is history! They now compete on an adult gold level in dance and Gina is a silver-level singles skater. David was also involved with the Club as former President. She also enjoys serving on the hospitality committee and volunteering for skating events.
Ex-Officio Immediate Past President
Anne served as President of the SCLP from 2022-2023.
